MISS CONGENIALITY star SANDRA BULLOCK is planning a change of career - becoming a gym owner.
The Hollywood actress is reportedly in talks to take over the reins at West
Hollywood`s WORKOUT WAREHOUSE following the death of the gym`s current
owner.
A source tells America`s IN TOUCH WEEKLY, "Sandra paid for a memorial
service that was held in honour of the owner. Now word is her company is looking to buy the gym."

BULLOCK`S NEW MAN BEATEN UP BY ESTRANGED WIFE


Movie actress SANDRA BULLOCK`s new man JESSE JAMES filed a restraining order against his estranged wife JANINE LINDEMULDER last year (03), after she beat him up.
The muscular TV mechanic, host of American cable show MONSTER GARAGE, filed for a temporary restraining order against the former porn star in May (03), accusing her of trying to run him down in a car and giving him a black eye.
Jesse claims in court papers obtained by America`s STAR magazine,
"(Janine)
indicated to me that she did not love me anymore and that our marriage was over," but lost her temper when she returned form the couple`s Seal Beach, California, home and found her belongings being loaded into a truck.
He says in the papers, "She began screaming and yelling at me... and punching me. She punched me in the face several times."
Although James attempted to fight back, recent surgery in his right shoulder prevented him from doing so effectively.
According to the court documents, by the time the police arrived, Janine had already hit Jesse in the back of the head with a flowerpot and attacked with a metal sculpture.
And last May (03), Jesse claims, Janine attempted to run him over after an argument - and punched him in the eye the day before Valentine`s Day (03).
Jesse is now hoping for a more peaceful romance with his new actress belle, whom he reportedly met in December (03).

THE LORD OF THE RINGS star VIGGO MORTENSEN puts his single status down to his fussy and passionate nature.
The 45-year-old has been single since his 1997 divorce from singer EXENE CERVENKA, and is keen to stay alone until he meets a woman who can live up to his high standards.
The actor - ARAGON STRIDER in the OSCAR-winning film trilogy - says, "I`d say only that I have high standards.
"I carefully choose the people I talk to, because once I get into something, there`s no stopping me."
Mortensen - who has worked with some of Hollywood`s most beautiful women - including SANDRA BULLOCK, GWYNETH PALTROW and LIV TYLER - remains unimpressed with his heart-throb status.

Actresses JENNIFER GARNER and AMANDA PEET have been deemed the perfect romantic choices for BEN AFFLECK by two of America`s top matchmakers.
Affleck became a single man once again in January (04), after he and GIGLI co-star JENNIFER LOPEZ called off their high-profile engagement.
And now SAMANTHA DANIELS, who runs SAMANTHA`S TABLE, and LISA RONIS, boss of New York`s LISA RONIS PERSONAL MATCHMAKING, have drawn up their list of ideal partners for the hunk. His DAREDEVIL co-star Garner and congenial l beauty Peet came out as the clear favorites - even though they both have boyfriends.
Daniels says of Garner, "One wonder what would have happened if they weren`t involved (with other people) when making Daredevil. She`s confident, at the top of her game right now, very pretty and very sweet."

AFFLECK EYES POLITICAL CAREER IN GEORGIA


BEN AFFLECK has become so attached to his adopted state Georgia; he now plans to run for public office there.
The DAREDEVIL star, whose palatial home is in Savannah, has long been a supporter for America`s Democratic party, and would now like to try his hand at getting into politics in the southern state, as a show of gratitude for the peaceful times locals allow him to have whenever he`s down there.
Affleck, who fell in love with Georgia after filming FORCES OF NATURE there with SANDRA BULLOCK, says, "Ultimately, there`s a part of me that would like to work in politics and participate in that in some way.
"It`s definitely something I would consider. If I run I definitely am gonna work and be involved in local politics. I already am in Georgia and will continue to (be), particularly coastal Georgia, which I really love and I think is beautiful.
"The people are wonderful and the country is wonderful. I have a place in LA, but mostly when I wanna be at my calmest and happiest I go down there."
But Affleck, ex-fiance of JENNIFER LOPEZ, does draw the line with his political ambitions - he`d never run for presidency.
He adds, "I can`t imagine anything worse than being a candidate in a political campaign. I know what it`s like to have my life laid bare. It`s unpleasant - I wouldn`t wanna have to do that.
"It`s a tremendous sacrifice. Your family goes through an enormously difficult time and if you`re successful, you`ve doomed your life - and your family - to a somewhat abnormal existence but it`s public service... and I do think it`s admirable."

DOWNEY JR RECEIVES HASTY PUDDING AWARD DRESSED AS CHAPLIN


Actor ROBERT DOWNEY JR was made to re-enact his role as CHARLIE CHAPLIN before he was crowned HASTY PUDDING`s Man of the Year yesterday (19FEB04).
Two HARVARD UNIVERSITY male students in drag joined the OSCAR-nominated CHAPLIN star on stage where he had to prove he loved one more than the other using Chaplin`s famous LITTLE TRAMP persona.
Downey Jr jokes, "(I am) doubly blessed in that not only am I the man of the year, but this is the first time that a convicted felon has received this award."
Actress SANDRA BULLOCK received the Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year Award last week (ends13FEB04).
The awards are given to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment" by HASTY PUDDING THEATRICALS, America`s oldest undergraduate drama troupe.
Last year`s (04) Hasty Pudding Award recipients were actress ANJELICA HUSTON and director MARTIN SCORSESE.

Hollywood actress SANDRA BULLOCK has won the title of HARVARD UNIVERSITY`s HASTY PUDDING WOMAN OF THE YEAR - and used the ceremony to prove her dating skills to a cheering crowd of students.
The SPEED star wowed the audience by walking across stage while suggestively playing with her hair in a mock attempt to `woo` a student at the American university on Thursday (12FEB04).
Bullock told a packed crowd, "This is the one that always works, whether the man is inebriated, whether he`s gay or straight, married or single.
"I walk up like this, and I do like a little hair thing, and I say this: `Hi. I have a more than a million dollars in my bank account and I`m single.`"
ROBERT DOWNEY JR will accept the HASTY PUDDING MAN OF THE YEAR award next week (19FEB04).

Hotel heiress PARIS HILTON has signed up for a guest-staring role in a hit
American TV sitcom executive-produced by SANDRA BULLOCK.
The blonde beauty, who recently scored a reality TV hit with THE SIMPLE LIFE,
has filmed a guest spot in GEORGE LOPEZ - and the comedian who stars in the
eponymous show was highly impressed with her skills.
