AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL has been blasted by Norwegian WORLD IDOL winner KURT NILSON - for being a "d**k".
The sharp-tongued music mogul was astonished when Nilson beat competition from American winner KELLY CLARKSON and British Idol WILL YOUNG to claim the coveted title. And Kurt - who recently signed with Cowell`s BMG record company - remains unimpressed by Simon`s caustic comments.
Kurt fumes, "I can`t imagine how it must feel for Simon getting up each morning knowing he has to criticise people just to get publicity.
"He doesn`t give a sh** about anyone else as long as he gets attention."

Struggling solo singer VICTORIA BECKHAM has enlisted the songwriting skills of pop guru CATHY DENNIS to help resurrect her flagging pop career.
Since the SPICE GIRLS` last musical outing in 2000, Beckham`s solo career has failed to take off. After disastrous sales of her eponymous debut album in 2001, the svelte star`s latest release - the double A-side single LET YOUR HEAD GO/THIS GROOVE only got to number three in the UK charts and within weeks had slipped out of the top 40.
Despite her record label TELSTAR`s recent claim, "We don`t have any plans at the moment to do anything with her," Beckham hopes Dennis - who has penned tunes for BRITNEY SPEARS, KELLY CLARKSON and KYLIE MINOGUE - can help her fulfil her dream of a number one hit.
Beckham has even scrapped the ten tracks she recorded with hip-hop mogul DAMON DASH after realising she wouldn`t be taken seriously in the urban genre.
A source close to the singer says, "The talks have been going on for a few weeks. Victoria`s anxious to get into the recording studio.
"She craves the success Kylie has and she knows it could be her last chance.
"Her manager SIMON FULLER gave Cathy her big break when she was just 16.
And even though she didn`t have much success as an artist, he never doubted her talent.

AMERICAN IDOL star KELLY CLARKSON was ridiculed as a child because she had her first period when she was just nine.
The singer was the first girl in her class to have her period and the memory still haunts her to this day.
She recalls, "Everyone started much later than me, like in seventh grade. But mine started in fourth, which meant I was nine. It sucked because I was so involved in sports.
"When I got up from my desk, there was blood all down the back of my clothes.
I hadn`t even realized. My best friend told me. Luckily, I managed to tie a sweater around my waist to cover it up."

AMERICAN IDOL victor KELLY CLARKSON has vowed to steer clear of movies for a long time, following last year`s (03) mega-flop FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY.
The MISS INDEPENDENT singer starred in the ill-fated movie with fellow Idol contestant JUSTIN GUARINI, and has decided it will be some time before she even considers going before movie cameras again.
She says, "I`ve had offers, but I`m really focused on my music.
"I`ve already written most of my second CD. I`m going in to record it after finishing (my) tour, and it will be out the fourth quarter of this year."

AGUILERA THRILLED WITH CLARKSON`S MISS INDEPENDENT


CHRISTINA AGUILERA has paid the ultimate compliment to AMERICAN IDOL
winner KELLY CLARKSON - she loved the Texan`s version of a hit song she co-
wrote.
Aguilera chose not to record MISS INDEPENDENT for her STRIPPED album,
and Clarkson chose to make it her first single.
Aguilera admits she was annoyed when she first heard the song, because she
wasn`t asked permission for Clarkson to record it, but she went out of her way to
meet up with the American Idol star at the GRAMMY AWARDS on Sunday
(08FEB04) - so she could tell her how much she liked her version of her song.
She says, "She was a lovely girl."
Unfortunately, Clarkson left the post-show`s party before Aguilera had a chance
to give her an unprompted ego-boost, so she made her feelings known when she
appeared on MTV show TRL in America yesterday (11FEB04).
Aguilera said, "If you`re watching Kelly, you`re a sweetheart and if the song was
to go to anyone I`m glad that it went to you because you gave it justice."

away a song she wrote to AMERICAN IDOL winner KELLY CLARKSON.

the talent show star was listed as a co-writer.
Christina says, "I`m like, `OK, where did I approve this, and whose a** do I have

really messed up. So some people got phone calls, and in the end it`s OK. It got
worked out."

AMERICAN IDOL winner KELLY CLARKSON was reportedly so upset when she
finished second in the WORLD IDOL TV talent contest on New Year`s Day
(01JAN04) she stormed offstage.
Sources tell the NEW YORK TIMES the LOW singer abruptly left the World Idol
set without acknowledging the shock Norwegian winner KURT NILSEN.
Nilsen says, "We didn`t get to talk. I think she went back to her hotel I guess.
Everybody wanted to talk to me and take pictures. I didn`t get a chance to say
goodbye."

American singer KELLY CLARKSON is so devoted to her work, she refuses to let men into her life.
The Texan MISS INDEPENDENT diva, who worked as a waitress before winning
the AMERICAN IDOL TV talent show and having a top-selling album, admits she
has no time for love - and even if she did, most men aren`t worth it.
She says, "I`m from a small town and nearly all my pals are married to their high-
school sweethearts, but I never had one cause I was always working.
"I`m the most focused female ever. I`m never looking for men. I`m always thinking
about work. I`m only 21 so it`s okay not to be dating right now. I want a chance to
figure out who I am before I have to go figure out who someone else is.
"I like older guys because they`re the ones who have caught up with my
intellectual capacity. Younger guys are only ever interested in one thing. I don`t
think guys ever get over their adolescent stage, not ever!"
