OSCAR-winning actress CHARLIZE THERON and MONSTER co-star CHRISTINA RICCI took their on-screen romance so seriously - the actress`s jealous boyfriend STUART TOWNSEND left the set fuming.
The film`s director PATTY JENKINS realised the two beauties were nervous about their love scenes so locked them in a room and told them to have a "lesbian party".
Jenkins tells British tabloid the STAR, "I had to do something to cut the ice, so I got them in a room, banished the crew and took in a bottle of tequila. I told them we were going to have a lesbian party.
"I just watched them get on with it, in no time they were totally in to each other.
"At first they were just kissing, then Charlize had Christina bent over and was slapping her a** with a tennis racquet, Christina was moaning and licking her way up Charlize`s leg. Very horny."
She went on to say, "After that they were lovers 24/7, they never slipped out of character - they were wild.
"Charlize`s boyfriend visited but after he saw what she was like he left, I think he found it hard to deal with."

Actress CHRISTINA RICCI has slammed American PRESIDENT GEORGE W
BUSH`s move to outlaw gay marriage - branding it "offensive and disgusting".
Ricci, who played CHARLIZE THERON`s lesbian lover in acclaimed movie MONSTER, believes love and marriage should not be interfered with by politics.
She says, "It`s offensive and disgusting that somebody`s pursuit of happiness, love and marriage has become such a huge political debate."
Her actor boyfriend ADAM GOLDBERG adds that the controversial issue has inspired them to vote "even more Democratic that we usually vote".

THERON AND RICCI LAUGHED WHEN KISSING:
OSCAR-winning beauty CHARLIZE THERON found it difficult to stop laughing when filming a lesbian kissing scene in MONSTER - because her teeth kept falling out.
Theron - who last Sunday (29FEB04) won the Best Actress ACADEMY AWARD for her performance - underwent a huge physical transformation to play serial killer AILEEN WUORNOS, including having a dental plate fitted.
But the false dentures made kissing CHRISTINA RICCI tricky, and the pair spent the day in hysterics.
Theron says, "She was really great at kissing, but it was quite difficult with fake teeth.
"Nothing could help us keep a straight face. At one point I looked at Christina and said, `This is a slumber party gone so wrong.`
"That was one of the funniest days we had on the set of that movie."

RICCI CONSIDERS STAGE MOM FUTURE:
CHRISTINA RICCI dreams of giving up acting and becoming a stage mom to a brood of talented kids.
The actress, who began her career when she was nine, admits she quite likes the idea of shaping her own children`s acting careers by becoming an on-set mum.
She says, "I was telling someone that popping out kids and making them work for you didn`t seem like such a bad idea, so the stage-mother thing might still be an option.
"I love being on set, but I don`t love having to wear other people`s clothes or do my make-up. I don`t love doing what I`m told all the time, either. It would be great if I could just tell someone else what to do."

AMERICAN PIE star JASON BIGGS found working with legendary comic and filmmaker WOODY ALLEN a terrifying experience.
The 25-year-old actor - who stars in Allen`s latest movie ANYTHING ELSE opposite CHRISTINA RICCI - says the 68-year-old director handed him notes which were less than encouraging.
Jason says, "Working with my hero I was truly terrified.
"Woody didn`t really compensate for my nerves. He would pass me notes saying such things as, `You put me to sleep in that take.`"

WES CRAVEN SHOOTS WEREWOLF MOVIE AGAIN:
Veteran director WES CRAVEN has ditched the first cut of his new werewolf movie and started shooting again almost from scratch.
The SCREAM filmmaker took the drastic step of refilming CURSED because he was so unhappy with the original footage.
Star CHRISTINA RICCI says, "It`s sort of like going on to another movie. And this time it`s a lot more fun.
"We have a lot more action and it seems better. I don`t think he was happy with what he was originally getting."

DAWSON`S CREEK JACKSON TURNS TO HORROR:
DAWSON`S CREEK star JOSHUA JACKSON is poised to terrify fans of the hit TV drama - he`s signed up for a role in WES CRAVEN`s new horror movie CURSED.
Singer MYA has also joined the all-star cast of PORTIA DE ROSSI, CHRISTINA RICCI, SHANNON ELIZABETH and SCOTT FOLEY in the film, which will finally begin shooting this month (NOV03) after the project was put on hold so
movie bosses could plan more special effects and develop the finale.
But the changes have forced producers to axe cameo roles from former child stars COREY FELDMAN and SCOTT BAIO.
Cursed - which sees the SCREAM team of Craven and writer KEVIN WILLIAMSON reuniting - tells the story of a werewolf attack which unites three strangers who must fight for survival against the beast and its curse.

MYA, PORTIA DE ROSSI and JOSHUA JACKSON have joined WES CRAVEN`s upcoming movie CURSED, as the cast undergoes a major overhaul.
The horror film, which stars SHANNON ELIZABETH and CHRISTINA RICCI, originally had such stars as COREY FELDMAN and SCOTT BAIO cast in it - but now bosses have stepped in to replace a number of the signed actors.
And AMERICAN PIE beauty Elizabeth admits she now has no idea who she`ll be working with.
She says, "It`s been crazy with the movie, because there have been a lot of changes to the script, and there has been some recasting.
"I know for sure that Christina Ricci is still in the film - she has one of the main roles. Mya and Portia de Rossi and Josh Jackson just signed on for supporting roles a few days ago."

STARS TEAM UP FOR LAST-MINUTE PERFORMANCES:
CHRISTINA RICCI, JULIANNA MARGULIES and BROOKE SHIELDS teamed up to perform a show with a difference on Monday night (22SEP03) - a series of plays written just a day before.
The event was New York`s annual 24-HOUR PLAYS ON BROADWAY benefit at
the AMERICAN AIRLINES THEATRE, which featured seasoned stage performers
such as Margulies and ROSIE PEREZ in six short plays which were written
exactly 24 hours before their performance.
Margulies, who recently ended her stint alongside BENJAMIN BRATT in the play
INTRIGUE WITH FAYE, says, "I would have liked one more day of rehearsal, but I feel lucky that I just finished a play.
"I think if I hadn`t just been doing a play for four months, I would have been a
mess. But everyone did so well. You have no idea how many lines were dropped!"
Also performing were ALAN CUMMING, SAM ROCKWELL and LIEV SCHREIBER, while BILLY CRUDUP and Bratt pulled out at the last minute.
The event benefited the WORKING PLAYGROUND organisation, which brings arts to public schools.

WOODY ALLEN FILM TO OPEN VENICE FESTIVAL:
The latest movie from prolific funnyman WOODY ALLEN is set to open the 60th VENICE FILM FESTIVAL today (27AUG03).
Comedy flick ANYTHING ELSE - which stars CHRISTINA RICCI, DANNY DeVITO and JASON BIGGS - will be screened alongside a personal appearance from publicity-shy Woody.
It is the first time the comedian has appeared at the festival, although he married wife SOON-YI in the city in 1997.
Other stars expected to make an appearance include NICOLE KIDMAN, GEORGE CLOONEY, CATHERINE ZETA-JONES and OMAR SHARIF.
